The US population is changing rapidly and the number of multilingual students is increasing exponentially across the country. By reflecting on the backgrounds of our students and implementing appropriate approaches for our diverse students, mainstream teachers, paraprofessionals and other staff can support success in their classroom.

This module is designed to expose educators and staff to basic methods, techniques and program models that help support multilingual student success. You will examine research into theory and practice for multilingual students, reflect on your current practices, observe a student in your school or district, and implement strategies to support this student.
